The on-again, off-again Lowe's Home Improvement Center is on again, only this time most of the store complex will be within Mount Pocono borough.

This means most of the municipal property tax revenue will go to Mount Pocono, rather than Coolbaugh Township.

An earlier proposal, withdrawn in 2006, placed most of the complex at Route 940 and Industrial Park Drive in Coolbaugh. A state law holds that if a developed parcel crosses two municipalities, the vast majority of tax revenue goes to the municipality where the building is located.

"That did not go over well because of all the traffic and the sewage," said Borough Council President John P. Finnerty.
