Thread: Sig P229 40Cal Elite Stainless

Default Sig P229 40Cal Elite Stainless

I ordered this thing as a celebratory gift for myself over 3 months ago and it still hasn't arrived! I have the 9mm, but having it in stainless and a cartridge that has more punch than a bug-bite made me rethink lugging this cinder block around.

Can anyone recommend a better holster? I have a paddle for the P228 I have now and if my belt isn't tight the whole rig has been known to do headstands.

I agree. It was a belt from Old Navy. I picked up a Galco belt about a month ago. It's pretty ugly. I'll look at those sites for something a little more stylish.

R temple: Regarding the look of the belt, won't the belt be concealed anyway? I do agree that the primary goal should be a thick, high quality belt that firmly holds the holster.

If it's a sturdy belt why not wear it even when not carrying? I actually like stiffer belts.

That Sig is not a light carry piece. I was carrying a full size 1911 for a pretty long time. I finnaly went over to the dark side and tried a glock 19. That size and the 19oz weight has made it so I can barely feel it.

I went with the Glock 23 (40cal) today. I was driving by Jerry's and stopped in. It's not too small and it holds 13+1. I'm probably not going to get the Sig 357 barrel only because of the added kick. I'm still throwing it around. It's nice. I'm going to put about 100 rounds through it to see how it shoots before slapping it on my waist.

Gotta love those Glocks - east to clean, fast shooting, relatively accurate, sufficient firepower, light and easy to conceal. What more could you ask for.

I asked jerry to knock a few bucks off. That went over like a lead brick.
